Playa Samara, Costa Rica is fast becoming one of the most popular beach vacation destinations in Guanacaste. Located on the Nicoya Peninsula, the town of Samara runs parallel to a wide and white sandy beach with calm white crested pacific waves.

Whilst Samara thrives on Costa Rica tourism there is still a small fishing population that can be seen preparing their boats early every morning or returning home at dusk with the days catch.

If you want to explore then there are plenty of neighboring beaches that are worth a visit including Playa Nosara, Playa Garza and Playa Carrillo.

Retaining much of its Costa Rican character, Playa Samara can be considered as one of the quieter coastal towns of Guanacaste—but that doesn’t mean you’ll be at a loss for things to do!
