When it comes to Playa Jaco, found along the southern Pacific coast, you will find abundant opportunities to fish for the big game fishes such as Marlin and Sailfish along with tuna, mahi‐mahi, wahoo, red snapper, snook, roosterfish, amber jack, and pompano which can all be caught consistently year round here.

Fishing licenses in Costa Rica are required and can be purchased for a month or a year. Most captains here in the area are members of the IGFA (International Game Fish Association).
