Nosara – known as a surfing Disneyland
Also mentioned is the chilled-out lifestyle that makes Nosara a surfer’s paradise for both beginners and seasoned pros. The area’s legendary waves and gorgeous backdrops attract surfers from around the world who hang ten at three acclaimed beaches:

- Nosara beach: Veteran wave riders head to Nosara beach, which is known for its consistent swells and big surf.
- Pelada beach: A notorious reef break fronting Olga’s bar is the place to go.
And for those who want to improve their skills on the board, the town has several surf schools that offer personalized instruction as well as group lessons for the whole family. Costa Rica surfing packages may also include lodging, transportation, daily meals and tours. If you’re planning a surf vacation to Nosara, March and April is known as the ‘big swell season’ and promises fun, challenging waves!
Adventure and ecotourism activities
Incredible surfing aside, Nosara is an inviting beach vacation destination for many other reasons. Nature hikes are best either at dawn or dusk for the best chances of spotting wildlife. Ostional beach, a short jaunt north of Nosara, is home to a famous mass turtle nesting, where thousands of Olive Ridley sea turtles storm the beaches from July through November.
