U.S Airlines set to triple flights to Costa Rica

With the Costa Rica tourism high season fast approaching, United and Continental Airlines have announced they will triple their flights to this popular beach and sun vacation destination.

This means that if you are planning a Costa Rica vacation in the coming months and live in the U.S you’ll have more of a chance to find a flight best suited to your specifications.

More Costa Rica flights from the U.S
United Airlines and Continental Airlines flights are available to Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in San Jose and the Liberia International Airport (LIR) which services the popular tourist province of Guanacaste.

The airlines will increase weekly flights from 22 to a total of 77, beginning in the month of November. In a press release, Carlos Granados, Manager of United Costa Rica explained that this increase is due to the start of Costa Rica’s high tourist season.

As of the 6th of October Continental Airlines will fly daily between Liberia International Airport and Newark airport in

New York. At present Continental Airlines flies once a week to this Costa Rica airport.  In December the same flight will offer four daily flights to San Jose from Houston and three daily flights from Newark to Juan Santamaria.

On December 17th United Airlines will begin flying once a week to Liberia from Chicago. According to an article published in La Nacion on Friday 30th September the Costa Rican Aviation Authority are set to approve increased flight requests from other U.S airlines.
