Jet Blue Announces Special Fare Non-stop Flights to Costa Rica’s Liberia International Airport

Another week and another airline is adding its name to the rapidly expanding list of companies that offer flights to the Liberia International Airport in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. On the 7th of July, Jet Blue announced that it will begin offering permanent flights from New York, John F. Kennedy Airport to Costa Rica’s Liberia International Airport.

The Costa Rica-bound flight is scheduled to depart on the 17th of November at 9.40 a.m. arriving in Liberia at 2.05 pm local time. With a capacity for 150 passengers, the Jet Blue Airbus 320 will leave Costa Rica at 3 p.m. and arrive in the U.S.A at 9 p.m.  Four weekly non–stop flights will then become routine, departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.  In addition to this new nonstop service to Liberia from New York, customers in Boston, Buffalo, Rochester, or Burlington, among other cities, can enjoy easy connecting service via JFK.

“We’re delighted to be adding Liberia to our growing list of destinations and giving our customers access to the breathtaking Guanacaste beaches and natural parks,” said Chad Meyerson, director of global sales for JetBlue Airways.”

This is the third airline to confirm their intention to begin offering flights to the popular beach and sun vacation destination of Guanacaste, Costa Rica this year. On Monday the 13th of June, Sun Country Airlines said it will operate a non-stop service from the Twin Cities in Minnesota to Liberia International Airport for the 2012 high season. German Airline Air Berlin Flights to Costa Rica begin on the 12th of November 2011.
