Costa Rica’s latest nondenominational spiritual group, the Montezuma Conscious Community, was honored to have the distinguished health and yoga guru, Viktoras Kulvinskas, speak at their intimate gathering to celebrate the launch of the organization. Kulvinskas, who pioneered the raw food movement in 1970, riveted attendees with his passion and enthusiasm regarding the connection between wellness and understanding the effects of enzymes and the microbial community that live within the human body.

You are going to love staying at one of our beautiful vacation villas!

Viktoras Kulvinskas is respected worldwide for his visionary, best-selling book, Bible of Raw Foods: Survival into the 21st Century, published in 1971. Nearly 40 years later, Kulvinskas’ raw food movement is the third most researched and discussed topic on the internet.

As Kulvinskas spoke in Montezuma, his positive energy captured the attention of casual passer-by’s and several local police officers. After listening from the street, the police officers began discussing vegetarians that they know personally. A typical Costa Rican meal usually consists of rice, beans and meat; usually chicken, pork or fish. However, numerous progressive communities throughout Costa Rica have been promoting healthier lifestyles for years through organic farming and activities such as yoga, pilates and tai chi.

Part of the mission of the Montezuma Conscious Community is to enlighten, encourage and support members with regards to making healthier lifestyle choices. After Viktoras Kulvinskas finished his talk, many of the attendees gathered at Organico Cafe for a nutritious breakfast, while others chose to head over to nearby waterfalls for a relaxing afternoon with like-minded friends.

The Montezuma Conscious Community holds weekly meetings every Sunday in downtown Montezuma, Nicoya Penninsula, Costa Rica. People from all walks of life are welcome to stop by!
