Incredible surfing aside, Nosara is an inviting beach vacation destination for many other reasons.  Tropical jungle hikes, turtle nesting tours, yoga, ATV excursions and horseback riding are just a few of the activities on offer. Home to nearly 300 avian species, the Nosara Biological Reserve features attractive trails that snake through tropical dry forest and wetlands. Nature hikes are best either at dawn or dusk for the best chances of spotting wildlife. Ostional beach, a short jaunt north of Nosara, is home to a famous mass turtle nesting, where thousands of Olive Ridley sea turtles storm the beaches from July through November.
